These terms govern your use of Markdown to PDF at mkpdf.app(“the Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Markdown to PDF converts markdown text to PDF. You may use it without an account. Creating an account enables saving documents to a personal library.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to markdown and documents you create. We claim no ownership. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content strictly to provide the Service (rendering PDFs, storing your library, and transmitting AI prompts only when you explicitly invoke that feature).
You are responsible for the content you submit. You agree not to upload data you do not have the right to process, including special categories of personal data, confidential information belonging to others, or material that is illegal, harassing, or infringes third-party rights.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- abuse the API with automated traffic beyond reasonable use;
- attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or payment gates;
- reverse-engineer or attempt to derive source from the Service;
- use the Service to transmit malware or engage in unlawful activity;
- misrepresent your identity when creating an account.
5. Fees and changes
The core Service is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features we will make the price, scope, and billing period clear before you are charged. One-time purchases are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice for material changes.
6. Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party providers (hosting, database, authentication, and — when enabled — payments and AI providers). We list them in our Privacy Policy. Their terms apply to their respective services.
7. Termination and service discontinuation
Your right to terminate. You may delete your account at any time from the account menu. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that have been inactive for more than 24 months, after a 30-day warning email where applicable.
Our right to discontinue the Service. We may modify, suspend, or permanently discontinue the Service, any feature, or your access to it, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, in our sole discretion, with or without notice. Where we permanently discontinue the Service, we will use reasonable efforts to notify signed-in users in advance and to keep the data-export endpoint available for a reasonable period so you can download your content.
Consequences of discontinuation. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law. If the Service is discontinued while you hold unspent paid credits, we will refund the pro-rata unused balance; we make no refund for free usage. On termination we delete your documents and account metadata as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that rendered output will meet every use case.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £50 — whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death and personal injury).
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of United Kingdom. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Kingdom, without prejudice to consumer rights to bring proceedings in the jurisdiction of the consumer’s residence where those rights are mandatory.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify signed-in users by email and update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
